Block Island Bike and Car Rental Inc. is located at 834 Ocean Avenue, just before the junction of West Side Road near New Harbor.
We offer Trek hybrid road bikes in sizes to fit most adults.(We do not have any children's bikes, tag-a-longs or tandem bikes.) Each rental comes with a lock and a helmet. We have free maps and can recommend appropriate routes to ride based on your time frame and biking experience level. Bikes are available on a first come/first serve basis - no reserving bikes. While we do offer some of the best bikes on the island we are the smallest company; there are hundreds of rental bikes available out here so one way or another you will be able to find a bike to rent.
Our vehicle fleet includes sedans, Subaru Foresters, minivans, and SUV’s. You must be over 21 to rent a vehicle, have a valid diver's license and a major credit card. The customer is responsible for providing insurance via their own policy or as supplied by their credit card. Pickup and delivery from the main ferry terminal at Old harbor is usually available. There are many dirt roads on the Island which are passable but a few are not; driving on the beaches and in parking areas with soft sand is forbidden for all rental vehicles. All rental vehicles on the island are previously owned cars in keeping with the nature of the roads out here and the relaxed summer atmosphere.
We do not take deposits for car rental reservations, we simply ask that if you do decide to cancel you give us a call to let us know of your change of plans.
One more thing:
WE DO NOT RENT SCOOTERS! All the moped rental options are in the Old Harbor area, where the majority of the ferries come in.
